PHOENIX PROGRAM COORDINATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

Kaleo Supports is breaking barriers for people with disabilities through opportunities and innovative services. Phoenix Day Supports will set an example of best practice.

Phoenix Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and facilitating recreational groups and programs which meet the social, emotional, cognitive/mental, spiritual, and physical needs of the participants.

The Phoenix Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director. He or she works as an

active team member providing support to participants which may include assistance with activities of daily living. The Phoenix Program Coordinator will help to maintain an organized, sanitary program environment, and ensure that daily supplies for programs and activities are maintained and organized.

PRIMARY REPSONSIBILITIES

  • All essential job responsibilities will be executed in accordance with Kaleo Supports’ policies and
  • compliance/ethics guidelines.
  • Developing groups and programs in consideration of the needs, abilities, and interests of the participants. The provision of programs shall offer a variety of formats including small group, one on one, and large group and take into consideration the population attending the program.
  • To research new ideas for programs and activities, taking into consideration the participants’ suggestions.
  • Initiating and planning the monthly calendar in conjunction with the Executive Director and leadership team.
  • To oversee and work in fellowship with the Advisory Council made up of participants, families, and others.
  • Assist in transporting to and from.
  • Carry a case load of no more than 20 and no less than 10. (being responsible for all administrative tasks, supervising staff, etc. also known as Q.P. work)

EDCUATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum of bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Therapeutic Recreation or similar human services field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Minimum of two years’ experience working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Computer skills to include Microsoft Office and using cloud-based services.

Arts/crafts experience a plus – including using cutting machines, screen printing, painting, resin, jewelry making, etc.
