Requirements

Summary of Position Responsibilities:

KAEKO is seeking Survey Party Chief with three to five years of relevant experience. The overall position of the Party Chief is responsible for planning and evaluating proposed field survey projects, managing the field survey team, prepare, process and coordinate the required field design survey work and construction staking survey work and other surveys and daily survey logs as part of public and private commercial, residential and industrial development projects. These responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:

• Provide day-to-day supervision of assigned survey field crew on quality and survey methodology, including training and mentoring of junior level employees.
• Participates in pre-survey planning meetings with project managers, resident engineers, contractor representatives, and clients, as necessary.
• Gather all necessary information needed to properly conduct the survey in the most time efficient manner and assign tasks to crew members.
• Performs field surveys, including staking, boundary control, horizontal and vertical controls, and topographic surveys.
• Prepares and reviews maps, drawings, sketches, and field note and makes recommendations to ensures the integration of field data and records into completed maps, plats, drawings and records.
• Assumes responsibility for the company survey equipment and oversees equipment maintenance and inventory.
• Communicate with management to maximize efforts and man-hours.

Minimum Requirements:

• Three years of experience
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong listening, writing, and verbal communications skills
• Understand construction staking mathematics and measurements.
• Operates survey instruments on more difficult and exacting survey work.
• Able to read plans (i.e., construction documents, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, etc.).
• Knowledge of survey ethics and technical standards.
• Maintain a current driver’s license in good standing.
• Ability to train and mentor Survey Technicians and other junior level staff.
• Ability to work extended hours, including Saturdays and ability to travel out of town for extended periods of time.
• Candidates should be able to handle extremes of outdoor work conditions in all seasons.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, team members, and the community.
