TITLE Shipping Team Leader COMPANY JTEKT Automotive - JATM DEPARTMENT PC/Shipping LOCATION Morristown, TN CLASSIFICATION Non-Exempt REPORTS TO Supervisor Shipping GRADE N/A REVISION DATE 01/31/2021 REVISION LEVEL 1   Summary/Purpose The Team Leader is responsible for leading their team in daily shipping activities and the packaging of CVJ components to produce high quality finished goods that meet or exceed our customer’s specification.  This position is responsible for ensuring their team complies with all JTEKT procedures and policies.  The Team Leader is responsible for maintaining 5S in their area; scheduling manpower; safety; quality; meeting production targets; record keeping; time keeping; verifying all monthly PM’s are completed; filling in for Tech A’s and Shipping Specialist’s in the area; communicating with the supervisor and other shifts; conducting daily FMDS meetings; conducting team meetings; creating and maintaining job elements and monitoring standard work.  First Responder.   Starting Rate: $27.09 (Includes Shift Premium) Essential Duties and Accountabilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Regular and punctual attendance is required. Flexible to work in any area of the operation. Willing and able to work any shift. Must be able to comprehend English and follow direction from JTEKT supervisor and/or manager. Must perform all instructions as listed in the Job Element. Follow standard work as described in the Job Elements for each operation and produce good quality. Must produce standard quantities upon completion of training. Inspect all safety equipment prior to start-up. Observe operation to detect workpiece defects. Perform minor preventative machine maintenance. Follow the non-conforming material procedure when it is found and notify the Supervisor. Project a positive outlook in conversation and conduct. Able to work in a fast paced team environment without direct supervision. Must complete First Responder Training (including First Aid, CPR and Blood-borne Pathogens). May perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.   Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has supervisory responsibilities for hourly team members within the department.   Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Ability to achieve forklift and scissor lift certification and drive proficiently, as determined is needed by our business demands. Able to operate stretch wrap machine, dock locks and dock doors. Perform forklift training, as needed to keep all team members certified. Mechanical and Technical knowledge is required. Successful completion of the JTEKT Technician B Certification Program is required. Ability to work overtime is an essential function of the position. The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
