Jsm Associates is Hiring a Site Safety Supervisor Near Tavares, FL

JSM Airport Services, LLC (a subsidiary of JSM & Associates, LLC) is currently seeking a Site Safety Supervisor who will work closely with our workforce and management teams at multiple sites/locations. This position will be a full-time position, with no supervisory duties. As the company continues to grow, this position will also support site start-up responsibilities at new locations across the country. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Site Safety Supervisor will work collaboratively with site personnel, site management, and corporate management in the coordination of safety training programs, monitor safety and health regulations, and provide necessary support to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations.
The Site Safety Supervisor may be required to perform the following tasks:

  • Assist in the development of Safety processes, policies, and procedures
  • Evaluate established processes, policies, and procedures on a continuous basis to monitor and analyze effectiveness; make recommendations and updates as needed
  • Coordinate and/or conduct staff (and subcontractor, when applicable) safety training to advance safety awareness and understanding in accordance with both the Company and Customer safety programs
  • Conduct regular "walk through" safety inspections of operational areas to determine compliance with company rules and regulations
  • Assist in the control of hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interface with supervisory personnel
  • Complete reports and inspections in a timely manner, documenting any noted deficiencies and follow-up to ensure corrective action has been completed
  • Investigate any accident, incident, or near miss occurrences on the job site(s) in a timely manner; ensure the completion of necessary documentation
  • Report any accident, incident, or near miss occurrences to the applicable agencies (insurance, OSHA, etc.)
  • Complete all annual OSHA Log reporting requirements
  • Coordinate Safety needs into new hire orientation
  • Maintain records of staff safety training and track employee safety history
  • Coordinate with corporate on company-wide Safety initiatives
  • Assist with the administration of special Safety projects
  • Perform other related job duties, as assigned

The normal work schedule for this position will be Monday – Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; however, occasional changes in the work schedule may occur, based on operational needs at any of our locations.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED); Bachelor's Degree preferred*
Other: Safety Program Certifications (at a minimum - OSHA 30)
Work Experience: Two (2) years of experience in a Safety related position
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and Power-Point
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Must be able exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to write reports and business correspondence
  • Must be able to exhibit excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Must be detail-oriented and exhibit strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Must be able to handle a dynamic work environment within defined deadlines
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize work with consistent follow-through
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work well on an independent basis, or on many different teams on simultaneous projects
  • Must have a basic knowledge of construction safety work rules and relevant OSHA requirements
  • Must have a basic knowledge of state Workers' Compensation laws and reporting requirements
  • Must be motivated; a "self-starter"
*Job experience, professional development and continuing education may be substituted for educational experience
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability of the employee to occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Additional Requirements:
The successful candidate for this position must be able to successfully pass a drug screening (we are a Drug Free workplace), a drivers' license check and validation, federal fingerprinting and security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging. This position will require infrequent travel to our various locations (< 25%).
