JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. is Hiring a Tax Associate Near Newark, DE

Global Supplier Services manages the operation for the Procure to Pay process within the firm, incorporating Contract Management, Purchase Orders, Corporate Accounts Payable (Expense, Corporate Card, Non-PO payment requests, Fixed Ass ets), Supplier set-up and maintenance, Indirect Tax, approval authorities and event ticket management.
This Function will reside within the Indirect Tax Operations team , part of Payment Operations within GSS. The team prepares and files all returns and makes all related payments for US Sales/Use and Personal Property taxes for JPMorgan Chase as well as handling all related audits. The team also handles all supplier-related foreign and domestic US Income Tax Withholding and Reporting; additionally performing a wide range of indirect tax functions associated with Accounts Payable activity for international locations. The team has locations in Columbus, Indianapolis, Bangalore, Bournemouth, Buenos Aires, and Warsaw.
This Personal Property Tax Associate position is a role in which the primary responsibilities would entail functioning as a Team Lead for preparation of property tax returns, review and analysis of property tax assessment notices to minimize taxes and audit risk, and preparation of tax bills for payment, as well as various assigned projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare annual personal property tax returns, evaluate assessments, and pay tax bills, functioning as a Team Lead
  • Analyze Property tax data from legacy systems to identify issues and trends
  • Ensure reduced audit liability through data integrity efforts
  • Focused training of staff with respect to Personal Property Tax processing
  • Facilitate coaching of team members on Personal Property Tax and procedures to insure quality, timeliness and integrity
  • Assist in ensuring controls are in place to maintain compliance with Risk Management and Audit readiness
  • Assist with projects such as productivity reporting, new software onboarding, analysis and testing
  • Review and analyze asset data to ensure proper classification
  • Assist with research, analysis and resolution of general ledger account reconciliation issues
  • Ensure that all activities are completed prior to internal and state imposed deadlines
  • Develop strategies to increase cost savings and efficiencies
  • Lead and/or assist in various projects as needed
  • Ability to learn new and existing systems, independently and with guidance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent preferred
  • 3 years professional experience with at least 1 year of related financial analysis / accounting experience and an understanding of Financial Reporting
  • Self-directed and motivated with attention to detail and independent problem solving skills
  • PTMS knowledge an advantage
  • Exceptional communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to complete work to deadlines with a sense of urgency
  • Strong problem solving ability and analytical skills required
  • Detail oriented and precise execution of assignments
  • Team player, self-motivated, ability to learn quickly and work independently with little supervision
  • Negotiation skills, creative with ideas to increase efficiency
  • Work with direct manager in determining and planning the best distribution of workflow to create and enhance efficiencies
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize and multi task
  • Take responsibility to maintain and monitor all procedures, state guidelines, and policies
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel required
  • SAP knowledge desired
  • Must be flexible (capable of teamwork and independent focus) within a virtual team that encompasses different locations, countries, and time zones
  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards
