FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Part-time
Hours: hours vary. evenings, mornings, weekends

Summary
Under the general supervision of the Facility Manager, the Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for performing day to day office functions. The Front Desk Receptionist will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, greeting members, answering and transferring phone calls in a prompt manner, handling cash transactions and registration for services/programs and having a solid knowledge of Joliet Park District operations.
Essential Duties
· Greeting the public. Demonstrate and promote positive guest relations and exceptional customer service. Provide information on Park District activities and facilities.
· Responsible for cash control of front desk cash drawer and incoming cash registrations.
· Answering all incoming phone calls and in-person inquiries, addressing caller inquiries and/or routing to the proper person, if necessary.
· Register applicants for, Resident I.D. Cards, Passes and programs.
· Perform photocopying or additional project needs for the Park District staff.
· Print out class rosters for instructors.
· Develop and maintain working knowledge of telephone system, copy machine, pass card printer, any other office equipment, POS system and Registration software.
· Check with supervisor daily, when conflicts or time does not allow completion of work for prioritization of work to be accomplished.
· Make decisions and problem solve issues that arise during shift.
· Be aware of all activities scheduled in the facility during shift.
Other Duties
· Communicate openly with Facility Manager and other staff to ensure the smooth operations of the facility.
· Complete tracking reports as requested by Facility Manager.
· Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual and Crisis Manual
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
· Must be 18 years or older.
· Flexible hours, as hours and times may vary.
· A valid US driver’s license.
· Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Excellent telephone and customer service skills
· Ability to communicate both verbal and written.
· Knowledge in computer operations (internet, email, Microsoft Word). Training will be provided for special Joliet Park District software.
Work Environment
Work setting is indoors, behind a desk (behind a plexiglass window). Noise levels can range between quiet office setting to moderate-noisy level of sound when children or members walk by. Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

The physical demands of this position are minimal. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may stand or sit for long periods of time, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; occasional lifting of moderately heavy items, up to 40 pounds. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and finger dexterity.
