BASIC PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the collaboration of graphic design in all ministry areas. This includes graphic design for print, social media and internal marketing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

GRAPHIC DESIGN

  • Provide creative concepts and designs for all ministry-related activities, events, and programs.
  • Assist with artistic input and design for print materials, video content and social media products.
  • Ensure effective and efficient coordination between the communications team and JF ministries regarding the development of design materials for ministry purposes.
  • Create infographics and presentation materials to simplify communicating complex concepts and data.
  • Oversee the review process for approving proofs of work submitted to outside printers.
  • Manage and catalog design files for all church projects and those organized by individual ministries.
  • Create and design in-house projects for ministry printing, i.e. mailing labels, business cards, flyers, postcards, posters, t-shirts, etc.

SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Work with the Communications Director, Art Director, and Digital Content Manager to design social media content for all Johnson Ferry Social Accounts when needed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend & participate in all regular church staff and Communications Department meetings, functions, retreats, etc.
  • Assist supervisor on various projects as assigned.

Qualifications


CRITICAL SKILLS

  • Design/Creative abilities
  • Works well in both team and cross-team environments
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Independently motivated; self-starter

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge and experience in Adobe Creative Suite or comparable programs.
    • 1-3 years (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
  • Comfortable working with applications such as Windows Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of best practices for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other relevant social platforms.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of HTML is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in Web design/Wireframes is preferred. but not required.
  • Video production/editing (Adobe Premiere Pro/After Effects).
  • Working photography skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting. Sitting at a desk or working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15-20 pounds at times.
