Joby Aviation is Hiring a Facilities Manager Near Santa Cruz, CA

Joby Overview

Located in Northern California, the Joby Aviation team has been steadily working toward our goal of providing safe, affordable, fully electric air transportation that is accessible to everyone. Imagine an air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly and quickly carries you over the congestion below, giving you back that time you’d otherwise spend sitting in traffic. Technology has advanced to the point where designing and operating an all-electric aircraft is completely viable. Our team has been discreetly designing and flight testing this vehicle and is looking for talented individuals to see it through certification and high rate production.

Overview

Oversee and manage the maintenance of our Santa Cruz Facilities, buildings, and related equipment, including inspections of roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems. This role requires excellent communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with various people, such as construction workers, architects and engineers. In order to succeed, it’s important to know how to implement quality, health, and safety standards onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, directs, and inspects the work of building maintenance crews and Building Equipment Operators 
  • Estimates labor and material costs 
  • Willing to perform work tasks as needed on a specific and daily level 
  • Reviews plans and specifications and makes recommendations as to maintenance and operation of new facilities prior to and during construction 
  • Inspects remodeling and repair work in progress for quality of workmanship and compliance with specifications 
  • Coordinates work with city departments 
  • Receives and investigates facility related emergency calls such fire, security, and power outages 
  • Manage service contract and maintenance schedules
  • Prepares budget estimates, makes recommendations to Facilities Operations Lead and controls expenditures 
  • Supervises and evaluation performances of Building Maintenance Team, Janitorial team, and Security team 
  • Oversee the operation of the landscaping and irrigation maintenance program 
  • Demonstrates superior customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally responsible activity 
  • Works more than forty hours in a workweek, as needed, to perform assigned job duties, including weekends, evenings, early morning hours, and holidays as required 
  • This position will be supporting two Santa Cruz locations

Required

  • Experience leading facility team as well and managing service contracts, maintenace schedule, and construction projects 
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment, air conditioning, refrigeration, fire systems, stand-by emergency power, water treatment systems, and related preventive maintenance programs 
  • Experience with leading teams, budget preparation and project management
  • Working knowledge of CAL-OSHA regulations and best practices 
  • Excellent computer and systems knowledge; Strong literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and ticketing system (Jira)
