Job Opportunity: Vehicle Technician at Penske

Shift: 2nd Shift, off Tuesday and Wednesday
Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure vehicles are well-maintained and safe for customers
• Perform preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision and in a timely manner
• Repair and troubleshoot major components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, and fuel system components
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Utilize Penske's tools and technologies for logging, researching, and completing repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
• Participate in Penske's technician training to learn new skills
• Handle other assigned projects and tasks as directed by the supervisor

General Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of vehicle maintenance experience
• Preferably a high school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair is a plus
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications are preferred
• Proficiency in using tools of the trade, including diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
• Valid driver's license
• Problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work well within a team
• Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
• Basic computer skills

The physical and mental demands of this job include frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and extended periods of sitting. The ability to use hands for grasping, reaching, touching, handling, and operating tools and controls is required. Safety precautions must be followed when working at heights and in all weather conditions. The ability to see and hear is essential for safe navigation in a workplace with large trucks. The job may involve lifting and moving heavy objects weighing up to 50lbs/23kg regularly, and occasionally up to 100lbs/45kg. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
