SUMMARY The team member will work within the Connected Solutions engineering group to design, implement and test web-based applications to enable enhanced levels of machine connectivity and control. The team member will play a crucial role of connecting disparate systems together to allow advances in efficiency and support of Global Product Development solutions. The team member must be proficient in Java and other modern object-oriented programming languages. The team member will be an integral part of multiple projects and responsible for peer reviewing their own and others’ software. The ideal candidate will have experience developing web-based applications which perform data analysis and data visualization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ability to write high quality, maintainable, object-oriented Java software Participate in peer reviews, estimation, and other engineering activities Write requirements and design documentation Responsible for quality conscious design including cost and reliability Develops SQL and NOSQL databases Implements and utilizes HTTP and REST APIs for system integrations Develops new microservices to ingest and manipulate data BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering 3-plus years related experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Exposure to REST based testing tools and DSL’s Experience with system design considering cyber security and SecOps principles Experience with Agile feature development Experience with utilizing source code repositories such as Bitbucket and GitHub Understanding of standard DevOps principles Understanding of common IoT architectures and tools Proficient in data analysis and visualization Strong oral and written communication skills Experience with automotive or heavy-duty equipment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Exposure to embedded applications on microcontrollers and real-time operating systems Experience working with CAN and the J1939 protocol Oshkosh is committed to working with and offering reasonable accommodation to job applicants with disabilities.
