Job Overview:

The Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process; Conducting interviews and sorting through applicants to fill open positions.
  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; and maintaining rapport; Attracting suitable candidates through databases, online employment forums, social media, etc
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization; direct advertising, job boards, job fairs, social media.
  • Perform job posting and advertisement processes.
  • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, and other stakeholders. Actively engages candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Collaborates with the human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Assessing applicants' knowledge, skills, and experience to best suit open positions.
  • Responsible for employee on-boarding by presenting new hire packet, completing I9s and gathering employment documents
  • Promoting the company's reputation and attractiveness as a good employment opportunity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • In coordination with the Regional Manager / Trainers arrange initial training (days) schedule for new hire.
  • Good understanding of the company’s organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policies and procedure, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
  • Maintain and champion professional awareness of and adherence to documentation requirements and confidentiality of information.

Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude: People on both sides of a job-seeking relationship may encounter challenges and frustrations as they search for employment. A successful recruiter will be encouraging, positive and realistic about potential matches.
  • Good research techniques: A recruiter spends a significant portion of their time finding resumes from professional job search sites, networking and personal interaction. They accumulate a pool of candidates and keep that information organized.
  • Good interviewing skills: Whether the Recruiter speaks with a candidate or hiring manager in person, on the phone or electronically, it is important to know how to efficiently ask questions that help them understand the applicant’s skills or the company’s job requirements. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

HOURS OF WORK:

Typical hours of work are Monday – Friday. Occasional night and weekend hours may be necessary.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

This position requires an excellent command of the English language, including reading, speaking, and writing. The preparation of technical documents and presentation materials is required. The ability to communicate with clients and groups is essential. This position requires juggling a diverse workload day to day and keeping it all organized. The ability to communicate information to other employees as well as management in a clear and concise manner is essential.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and required to frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel equipment, paper, or files. The incumbent must be able to operate a computer keyboard as well as see a computer monitor display screen. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This job requires adequate hearing and verbal communication skills to perform essential functions. Standing for extended periods of time may be required. Moderate use of the telephone.
