JERRITT CANYON is Hiring a Process Operator Near Elko, NV

The Opportunity

Jerritt Canyon is looking for a Process Operator to assist with all process equipment and circuits (Primary Crush, Dryer, Fine Crush, Roasters, Gas Handling, CIL). The Process Operator will be responsible for taking process reading, adjusting, and recording data. The Process Operator will be responsible for cleaning assigned work areas and performing daily pre-shift area inspections. The candidate will safely operate and recognize symptoms of abnormal operation and perform minor preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on crushing, grinding, thickening, and water treatment plant. The candidate will be required to operate heavy equipment applicable to the processing plants.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and correct circuit and equipment problems
  • Operate circuits safely, efficiently, with responsibility and reliability
  • Record and maintain orderly operator log sheets
  • Perform mechanical tasks as needed within the scope of training and skills
  • Responsible for maintaining housekeeping standards
  • Responsible for pre-shift inspections, equipment pre-ops, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with others to maintain operational performance
  • Report and address safety and environmental concerns
  • keep stockpiles organized and maintain
  • Transports machine from place to place safely and efficiently
  • Performs various general/manual labor duties on frequent basis such as shoveling, gathering, and delivering supplies and materials; greasing conveyor belt rollers; assisting other process operators in performing their duties, etc.
  • Be able to work a rotating 12-hour shift 5/4 day/night schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to safely work with a variety of chemicals including but not limited to lime, cyanide, caustic, mercury, etc.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify conditions or defects that may impact employee safety, environmental compliance, property damage or reliability of equipment and take necessary steps to mitigate defects. (Make basic repairs if employee has training, skill, and knowledge or generate work request in work management system.)
  • Relieves other equipment operators on as needed basis

The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

Education and Experience

  • Performs pre-shift inspections and operates the following equipment consistent with company and regulatory agency safety and environmental standards: Crusher, Feeders, Conveyors, Thickeners, Product filters, Water systems, Loaders, Skid steers, Forklifts, Bobcat, light vehicles, and overhead cranes.
  • Reagent handling including mixing and transferring of flocculants, and water treatment chemicals.
  • One (1) year of Process experience preferred. Entry level positions are available.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of this position, including working in hot or cold weather conditions required
  • Knowledge of high pressure/high temperature systems preferred
  • Direct experience working in the Process or Mining environment preferred
  • Experience in handling chemicals and reagents preferred
  • Experience in other phases of gold ore processing preferred
  • Able to wear a full face and half-face respirator
  • Able to work in strenuous physical conditions including extreme temperatures, wind, rain, sleet, snow, heat and cold, indoors, outdoors
