SUMMARY Responsible for developing, launching and ongoing innovation of multiple products and product lines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Working with the VP of Global Marketing, develops product line business plans and corresponding budgets.

Manages product line P&L with input into forecasting, operations, and financial controls.

Identifies “white space” to drive relevant product innovation and expansion.

Leads cross-functional team in the development of new products and product revisions.

Maintains a predictable and reliable product development launch schedule across multiple product lines.

Monitors product, market and sales performance, evaluates market and consumer trends, and makes recommendations for product improvement or discontinuation.

Establishes pricing of each product to align with short and long-term financial goals.

Prepares reports and presentations for sales meetings and key stakeholders.

Domestic travel may be necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises the Assistant Product Manager(s)/Coordinator(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university.
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a product manager in a CPG environment.
  • Proficient with syndicated data (IRI; Nielson, etc.).
  • Experience developing products for multiple channels (Food, Drug, Mass, Club, Convenience, Specialty).
  • Experience leading cross functional teams on product development initiatives.
  • Ability to influence project stakeholders while demonstrating diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to use data and metrics to support recommendations.
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Inherent in each position is a general duty to maintain each respective work area in a safe and sanitary condition. The employee must also possess the ability to take direction, follow instructions, work with others, follow work rules and schedules, and focus on details.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
