JCare is Hiring a Caregiver Near Oak Park, MI

Responsibilities/Qualifications

Homestead offers care to residents to a Senior Living Facility in Oak Park. We are looking for someone that can work the afternoons, 4-9pm a few days a week, everyother weekend. We also have some day shifts if you would like additional hours.

We are looking to grow our team with those who share our passion and enthusiasm by providing the best experience for our residents. Caregiving offers a rewarding career as it allows you to make a positive impact on the lives of others. As a caregiver, you have the opportunity to provide physical and emotional support to our residents who are elderly, disabled, or recovering from an illness. Additionally, it allows you to develop valuable skills such as patience, empathy, and communication.

Your daily responsibilities will be:

  • Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, incontinence care, and adequate nutritional intake
  • Respond to resident call lights and assisting them with their needs
  • Observe and document changes in residents mental and physical health so everyone is familiar with their health status
  • Follow the assignment sheet/service plan performing tasks that are assigned so nothing is overlooked
  • Communicate in a professional manner with families, support services and coworkers
  • Assist other team members with their duties
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements:

  • Able to pass a criminal background check
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years old
  • Reliable transportation
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Every other weekend is required
  • A positive attitude and the ability to arrive on time for every shift
