Purpose and Scope/General Summary: Reporting to the Head of Commerce, the Director of Business Development provides the critical link between BU strategy, sales, customer success and marketing execution. The person in this role will develop and execute a multi-faceted operations plan to support the organization's growth objectives. Responsible for reporting and analytics for the commercial organizations, this person will establish and monitor sales, customer success and category metrics, activities, and results against goals. This position works closely with the leaders of the customer-facing, finance, and Category organizations to develop plans for sales productivity, processes, and methodology.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Business Partner to Leadership Team, providing business insights & understanding of market dynamics to drive strategic direction to deliver profitable growth.
  • Influence and support short, medium and long-term financial and sales planning and reporting.
  • Lead the pricing optimization projects and deploy pricing capabilities for the Prepared BU
  • Responsible for tactical execution of end-to-end pricing strategy
  • Implement business analytics (reporting methodology, tools, and cadence) to support targeted outcomes
  • Implement, track and report schedule of executive approval, discount management, price waterfall analysis, and target price metrics by product lines/customers
  • Evaluate Pre-Post promo evaluation in partnership with sales team
  • Consider assumptions in seeking cost improvements in Plants. Seek for and support cost improvement opportunities. Be an active contributor to operational improvement projects and initiatives. Validate and review proposed savings
  • Forecast business unit financials based on raw material market forecasts, standard costs, production forecasts, average inventory costs, sales prices, sales forecasts, and operational variances.
  • Work with BU Controller team to support budgeting process regarding sales volumes and prices.
  • Build financial scenarios to show the full P&L impact to the organization of pricing decisions
  • Take on ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Cross-functional team coordination for promotional efforts
  • Monthly S&OP contribution
  • Revenue forecasting

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in an analytical discipline (business, finance, operations, etc.) is required.
  • 7 years’ business experience primarily in planning, finance, sales operations, or a combination of these disciplines.
  • 5 years’ experience producing and/or managing complex forecasting and pricing models and analysis for a multi-SKU business (CPG experience)
  • 3 years’ cross-functional project leadership experience.
  • Exposure to multi-channel sales (B2B, B2C,) forecast and demand planning preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. Advanced Excel skills required lookups, pivots, database and document links, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to concisely and confidently deconstruct and articulate complex analytical findings using simple concepts/comparisons.
  • Proven ability to analyze commercial issues/problems, develop solutions, and make sound recommendations.
  • As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $120,000 - $130,000; and
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;

This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account various factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiencies for the role.
