Summary:

Javara is seeking a confident, energetic, and intellectually curious Sr. Business Analyst. This individual will be responsible for providing functional and technical expertise to Javara team members, serving as a key customer-facing resource. This role will collaborate with all Javara cross functional teams to support the growth and continuous evolution of our product offerings. The role will identify, analyze, design, and implement business solutions, coordinate, and prioritize project tasks, and communicate with IT team members, Javara cross functional teams, and external vendors. The Sr. Business Analyst will ensure each project is implemented within contractual obligations, internal SOP’s, and regulatory requirements.

This position will report to the Executive Director, Solutions Delivery & Operations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Requirements Assessment and Gathering

• Discuss, define, analyze, and produce written Business Requirements and/or Epics/User Stories so that they can be easily understood. This will include scenarios whereby the requirements are at diverse levels of maturity. A hands-on approach is required in this area.

• Both functional and non-functional requirements will need to be documented, ensuring alignment with organizational strategic goals. Translation of cross-functional business requirements into system requirement specifications, with traceability, is also required. 

• This role requires deep relationships and support of Business Stakeholders, Product Users, Product Managers, Product Owners, and Technical Leads to ensure that IT solutions are both valuable and viable. 

• Knowledge in both traditional Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC) and Agile lifecycle methodologies with experience in capturing requirements in both environments. 

Influencing Business Change

• Act as a bridge between various stakeholders, across all business units and Technology including of all levels throughout the organization, playing a crucial role in ensuring the desired change is successful.

• Facilitate workshops as required across stakeholders at all levels to ensure successful implementation, training, adoption as well as a culture of collaboration.

• Develop and deliver end user training and establish and maintain user reference materials for all user types for assigned projects/products. 

• Evaluate solution effectiveness through interpretation and analysis of key metrics, translating data into actionable insights.

Problem Solutioning

• Active participation and guidance of the team is necessary to work through issues and drive the team to an agreed upon solution.

• The Business Analyst will utilize business and user insights to form solutioning ideas and make prioritization decisions to maximize the value of the IT solutions. The role requires an individual with the mindset that problems can be solved.

Business Process Modeling

• Produce As-Is & To-Be process diagrams outlining the steps that the team carries out to respond to an event or trigger and achieve specific goals and objectives. 

• Document Data Flow Diagrams to show visualization of data streams, flow, and storage. 

• Document process flows utilizing UML to easily present to both technical and non-technical team members. 

Project Support

• Act as an expert technical and scientific resource to software development staff in all phases of the analysis, development, and implementation processes. 

• Ensure that Technology teammates understand the business requirements in detail by translating requirements into technical terms. 

• Support Technology peers throughout the project/product lifecycle from analysis to implementation, including project intake, analysis, backlog grooming, documentation, QA (Quality Assurance), change management, implementation, user support, etc.

• Support business teams to define the User Acceptance Test criteria, help business in defining User Acceptance test scenarios. 

Qualifications: 

Required

• 4-year college degree in a related field; Management of Information Systems (MIS) or Computer Science.

• 5-8 years experience business analysis and managing multiple projects required. 

• Strong analytical, oral, and written communication abilities, relationship management, consulting skills, as well as proficiency with technology required. 

• Ability to navigate within a fast-paced, rapidly maturing environment. 

• Experience with working with 3rd party development teams. 

• Highly proficient technical writing capabilities. 

• A team player that demonstrates strengths of integrity, accountability, ownership, and analytical thinking. 

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with significant experience managing multiple workstreams and cross-functional teams; formal project management experience.

• Experience with both agile and waterfall project management approaches.

Preferred

• Experience in the Life Sciences or Healthcare industries is strongly preferred.

• CBAP, CAP or similar certification. 

• Experience with data analysis, visualization and BI tools strongly preferred.
