CNC Machinist

Schedule: M-Th – 6am – 4:30pm, overtime as requested on Fridays
POSITION SUMMARY
The CNC Machinist reads and interprets blueprints and drawings to perform set up of CNC Mills and Lathes in the Machining Department. The goal of the machining department is to strive for efficiency and accuracy to create superior end products for our customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Successfully program Mills and Lathes according to print utilizing CAD software.
Build components for new and existing tools through the use of machining centers and tooling equipment.
Set up machines and load correct programs.
Develop standard work and tool set up sheets.
Collaborate with experts in the field to identify efficiencies and purchase tooling.
Instruct and train team members in the machining department.
Operate machines as needed.
Use various measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers and dial indicators to perform all dimensional inspections and document as required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Strong mathematical skills. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to interpret and reason
High attention to detail
Strong problem solving skills and ability to trouble shoot
Willingness to stay knowledgeable in the field
Strong communication skills
Ability to train and mentor
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Associates degree in CAD programming
Experience: Metal fabrication manufacturing environment with experience programming and operating a CNC machine.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, CAD programs such as AutoCAD and Solid Works
