FLSA Status: Full-Time Exempt

Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 Annually

Location: Ypsilanti, MI / Hybrid

Position Description Summary: 

Jacobsen|Daniels is seeking a talented, motivated, and self-reliant Content Marketer. The Content Marketer will be responsible for inbound marketing strategies to build a brand identity and online presence through the creation and dissemination of multimedia content online. This involves developing content strategies, growing an online community, and tracking that community’s growth. The Content Marketer will report the Marketing Coordinator.? 

Requirements

Essential Function(s) of the Position: 

The essential functions described here are representative of those that an employee must be able to accomplish to successfully perform this position.

  • Design content marketing strategies and set short-term goals. 
  • Undertake content marketing initiatives to achieve business targets. 
  • Produce high-quality content by collaborating with the Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator. 
  • Create an editorial calendar, complete/delegate tasks, and ensure that deadlines are met. 
  • Regularly deliver engaging content. 
  • Edit, proofread, and improve all marketing content. 
  • Optimize content considering search engine optimization (SEO) and Google Analytics. 
  • Familiar with pay per click (PPC) digital marketing.
  • Analyze web traffic metrics. 
  • Ensure a strong web presence on various channels. 
  • Generate ideas to increase customer engagement. 
  • Assists with the development of all proposal packages and activities as necessary. 
  • Assist with ensuring marketing and branding materials reflect corporate culture, mission, vision, values, recruitment, employee engagement and retention initiatives. 
  • Maintains and assists with developing brand standards for corporate materials such as memos, reports, agendas, and other business templates. 
  • Maintains and assists with developing marketing materials including firm profiles, project profiles, resumes, newsletters, press releases, corporate blog, website, email announcements, and other promotional materials. 

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities: 

  • Proven work experience as a Content Marketer – please provide samples of both print and digital work. 
  • Proficient in MS Office and experience with WordPress or other Content Management Software. 
  • Understanding of web publishing requirements. 
  • Ability to predict audience preferences with an editorial mindset. 
  • Hands-on experience with SEO and web traffic metrics. 
  • Expertise in social media platforms. 
  • Project management skills and attention to detail. 
  • Communication – speaks, writes, and reports clearly, persuasively, and strategically to get messages across through different outlets of communication. 
  • Creativity – high level of digital competency, and work reflects creativity, uniqueness, and a contemporary interpretation approach. 
  • Efficient – attentive to detail and produces accurate work. 
  • Adaptability – adapts to changes in the work environment, able to improvise on short notice, delays or sudden unexpected changes to project descriptions. 
  • Dependability – consistently delivers on time, responds to direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance. 
  • Productivity – ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to work outside of normal business hours to meet deadlines, if necessary. 
  • Organized – ability to work on and track multiple projects for different stakeholders simultaneously 

Education and Experience:  

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in journalism, communications, advertising, marketing, public relations, public administration, or closely related field and two years of progressively responsible professional public information, marketing, or public relations experience.

  • Content creation experience in multiple formats with progressively increasing scope and responsibility. 
  • Proven track record of independently creating authentic, consumer focused multimedia content that increases awareness and engagement. 
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to write and edit a variety of easy-to-understand communications materials, this may include brochures, flyers, web pages, video, social media posts, newsletters, news releases, advertisements, memorandums and reports. 
  • Experience with common business and creative software applications such as Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Email Marketing Platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) and Content Management Systems. 
  • Familiar with creative computer software applications such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and Acrobat. ?
