The primary purpose of the role is to support the delivery of comprehensive and innovative communications, public consultation and stakeholder engagement activities across a range of local and regional infrastructure projects. There will be opportunities to experience different roles within the business aimed at developing your career.
We'll Expect You To:• Supporting the communications team by proactively engaging with clients, agency partners, elected officials, community groups, businesses, and the public, face-to-face, on the phone, and via email.• Supporting and monitoring deadlines to meet internal and external client deliverables and requests• Assisting in producing high quality editorial copy, reports, publications and engagement supporting materials• Supporting the public consultation process, representing projects within the community• Supporting event management, such as public meetings and open houses (some evening/weekend work may be required)• Organizing, attending and recording meetings with a range of stakeholders• Monitoring, responding to, and tracking stakeholder queries through various channels• Managing the translation of content and materials into multiple languages• Leading tasks within large programs• Supporting communications via social media channels for projects• Media monitoring
Jacobs’ hybrid work model allows for work to be performed from home or at Jacobs’ Las Vegas office location.
Here’s What You’ll Need:• Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, government relations, planning, public relations or similar discipline• A minimum of 3 years in communications, public engagement, marketing, or public relations• Excellent organizational and time management skills as well as high attention to detail• Motivation to own the work to ensure on-time completion• The ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team• A willingness to embrace and grasp complex subjects quickly• The ability to work on multiple and dynamic projects• Fully comfortable dealing with people, enjoy public interaction and be a good listener• The ability to travel for associated work, if needed
Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:• Experience with or interest in social media platforms and messaging• Interest in delivering communications programs for infrastructure projects• Strong organizational and Office 365 Suite skills
