Jacksons Companies is Hiring a Transportation Manager Near Caldwell, ID

The Transportation Driver Manager at Capitol Distributing is responsible for managing a large fleet of delivery drivers consisting of exempt and non-exempt employees. This position will develop a team of transportation supervisors through mentorship, goal development, and strategic planning. The individual in this role will spend most of their time in office focusing on day-to-day items, projects, conflict resolution, policies, safety procedures, and identifying opportunities to become more efficient. The ideal candidate will have both driver and office experience allowing them to fully understand transportation Some of what you'll do as a Transportation Manager: Manage transportation supervisor team providing day to day direction, performance management, conduct team meetings, and delegate work assignments.Must have knowledge of current in DOT and government regulations in transportation industry. Builds training, policies, procedures to educate department of new standards. Develop routing schedules, loads, and backhaul opportunities for increased efficiency and profitability. Implement and coordinate multiple shipping sites using transportation software such as Omnitracs RoadNet to maximize productivity of routes daily.Participate in cross functional warehouse teams to accomplish facility projects and operational goals. Attends and participates in company leadership meetings as requested.Work closely with the sales and store management teams to resolve escalated customer and employee issues as they arise.Provide heavy emphasis on safety guidelines. Provides guidance to supervisor team with corrective action for policy violations.Other duties as assigned from the General Manager of Transportation.You'll be a great fit if you have: A Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.3 years of leadership experience acting as a lead, supervisor, and/or manager of a team.5 years of transportation administration experience.Current or prior CDL license, an overall understanding of being a professional driver. Knowledge of transportation technology and software, Omnitracs RoadNet preferred.Extensive experience and knowledge of DOT regulationsProficiency in Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Strong written, communication, and presentation skills.The ability to meet tight deadlines and work overtime as needed.
