J5 Consulting is a Maryland based company established in 2006 to provide computing and consulting services for government and commercial entities. Job Overview:

The Customer champions data management, governance, accessibility and quality in accordance with the official enterprise data strategy and strategic direction implemented by the Customer’s Chief Data Officer. The Customer delivers high-quality, timely and secure information technology solutions and services in support of a global business system ecosystem. The Customer requires support for data governance and management, scrum team management and core group capabilities.

The position will:

  • Collaborate with team members, external stakeholders, and data stewards to define the current state of Customer data.
  •  Align Data Architecture with enterprise strategy and business architectures that integrate and improve the quality of enterprise data.
  • Recommend to the Customer, changes to current applications and databases based on Customer requirements.
  • Recommend to the Customer, the appropriate cloud services to design and deploy applications and databases based on given requirements.
  • Manage instances of cloud infrastructure services and multiple cloud servers.
  • Create functional design specifications, architectures and render support with other cloud project deliverables.
  • Continuously evaluate program progress and evaluate incoming information to ensure the program is progressing on schedule.
  • Assist the Customer’s product owner with the assessment of program requirements and entering requirements appropriately into Customer’s tracking tools.
  • Work with the development team to identify and document requirements.
  • Work with the development team to identify and document risks and dependencies.
  • Assist the Customer’s product owner with mitigating or avoiding risks.
  • Assist the Customer’s product owner in alleviating program issues.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagements, such as user requirements sessions and training.
  • Defines, analyzes, tracks and reviews requirements for Customer consideration.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes and project decks (i.e., presentations).
  • Track work requirements and action items to meet program deadlines.
  • Support tasks requiring collecting, compiling, evaluating and publishing information and statistical data included in documents, records, forms, reports, plans, policies and regulations.
  • Interface with stakeholders to ensure user stories are documented.
  • Manage agile stories via Customer-approved methods.
  • Use Customer-approved tracking system for issues and problems.
  • Develop, create or maintain documents such as current or ‘as-Is’ system architecture documentation, technical assessments and product evaluations, and recommendations for ‘To Be’ (target) architectures for Customer consideration.
  • Provide program or project verification and validation.
  • Provide frequent contact with customers, traceability within program documents, and the overall computing environment and architecture.
  • Provide data architecture and analyst/integration support to identify the enterprise data needs and design master ‘blueprints’ , to include alignment to customer’s systems, data investments, business strategy, and data access governance as directed by multiple functional data stewards for Customer consideration.
  • Outline high-level, integrated designs to meet requirements for Customer consideration.

Required skills and demonstrated experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as agile scrum master.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating multiple projects and activities into consolidated presentations for senior officials.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and validating requirements for new or existing capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience designing enterprise-level data architectures and integrating complex datasets and web services aligned to stakeholder’s business applications.
  • Demonstrated experience of knowledge in data warehousing, data marts, and their associated integration processes.
  • Demonstrated experience designing technology to integrate and improve the quality of existing enterprise data assets.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and documenting risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and evaluating customer requirements to identify technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in enterprise data strategy, data governance practices, data stewardship principles, data architecture principles, data standards, and metadata management best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience translating requirements into end-to-end designs for systems that involve multiple interfaces and supporting data repositories.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing cloud environment for efficiency and effectiveness.

Highly desired, though not required, include:

  • Demonstrated experience as a SharePoint Site Collection Administrator.
  • Demonstrated experience with Jira.
  • Demonstrated experience with Wordpress.

Security Clearance:

  • The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.
  • Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.

Travel:

  • This position is expected to be onsite. The position will be located within the Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA). 
  • Local travel/POV will be on an as needed basis, within the local place of performance.
