Currently, we are seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join our Accounting group! The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Payable Team and be responsible for developing best practices and procedures. They will ensure timely payments of vendor invoices, maintain accurate records, and review applicable accounting reports to ensure accuracy and a timely month-end-close.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal business partners and vendors
  • Ensures accuracy of Accounts Payable vouchers for coding
  • Manages check runs on the 10th and the 20th of each month as well as ad hoc check runs
  • Manages bi-weekly subcontractors check run
  • Oversees monthly vendor statement reconciliations
  • Manages invoices log with issues and communicate frequently with the internal business partners to resolve the issues promptly
  • Providing regular supervision of Accounts Payable staff, including ensuring that bi-annual performance evaluations are completed in a timely and comprehensive manner and identifying training needs of staff and providing any necessary training
  • Monitoring the timely completion of payments, the application of payments, and processing, verifying and reconciling invoices
  • Reviewing weekly vendor payment reports for accuracy and routine scanning of documentation for audit compliance
  • Audits all invoices for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensures all vendors are paid per contractual terms and that inquiries and payment issues are responded to in a timely manner
  • Provides problem and invoice resolution assistance to vendors and internal business partners
  • Ensures AP meets all month end close deadlines
  • Adheres to internal control policies and ensure that proper documentation and support is maintained for all accounts payable transactions
  • Performs ad hoc special projects/requests as needed
  • Assist with audit requests
  • Assist with the 1099’s at year end
  • Hire, train, motivate and evaluate staff, including coaching and development

A successful candidate will have:

  • Five (5) years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Construction industry experience preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities 
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities 
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills 
  • Ability to take direction and work well under minimum supervision
  • Demonstrates organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates an attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
  • Software Experience Necessary: 
    • Microsoft Suite 
    • Knowledge of ERP systems valued
    • Knowledge of CMIC – preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
