Position:

We are currently looking to fill multiple positions for Assembly Tech roles at our Canonsburg, PA facility. The ideal person will assemble fabricated parts, components, or units at various floor stations. You will prepare parts for testing, test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerance and product specifications. You will also perform complex machine set up, identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repair as necessary and be responsible for implementing approved measures to increase productivity and efficiency.

Impact is seeking assembler's (mechanical and electrical). As an assembler you will manufacture and assemble a variety of configurations of plug-in devices and feed units used in electrical distribution systems.

Essential functions:

• Read shop drawings and wiring diagrams

• Read bills of manufacturing (BOMS) to determine component parts and assembly sequences of electromechanical units

• Make electrical connections on cords/wires according to specifications

• Modify parts by drilling, tapping, countersinking, etc. Machine tools, power, and pneumatic hand tools.

• Assemble parts, and position, align, and fasten assemblies, subassemblies, using hand tools and power tools.

• Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly

• Measure parts to determine tolerances, using tape measures and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

• Attach labels and mark identifying information on parts.

Additional Duties:

• Load/unload trucks

• Cross training to work in other functional department of the plant

• Other duties as assigned by management.

• Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Tool selection — determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.

• Oral comprehension – the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

• Ability to operate cordless hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools.

• Ability to read shop drawings and wiring diagrams preferred.

• Ability to read standard tape measure.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• One year of experience in electrical /mechanical manufacturing preferred

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

• Lifting: ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Occasionally; ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. often.

• Finger dexterity: the ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.

• Manual dexterity: the ability to quickly move hand, hand together with arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

• Arm-hand steadiness: the ability to keep hand and arm steady while moving arm or while holding arm and hand in one position.
