SUMMARY:

Once products are received and broken down by the material handlers, forklift operators are responsible for scanning the product into the inventory system and putting each product into the correct bay in the warehouse.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the following essential functions.

• Forklift operators receive the product from the receivers and verify that the number of items they have on hand matches the number of items that they are supposed to stock.
• If the products or the quantities don’t match correctly, the forklift operator may need to go to the inventory control coordinator or receiver to resolve the problem.
• Once all products are verified the forklift operator uses the Intermec system to scan the product and quantity into the system.
• Forklift operators will then use stand-up lift to take the product to the correct bay.
• Once they find the correct bay, the forklift operator will then scan the label on the bay. This tells the inventory system which product and quantity are going into which overhead bay.
• If the bay is low, they will move the product manually by hand or if the bay is high they use the stand-up lift to place the product in the correct bay.
• Forklift operators may have to unpack the product.
• At the end of the day, the forklift operator will do reconciliation with the inventory control coordinator to correct any discrepancies between the inventory system and the AS400 system.
• Responsible for putting away any backhaul.
• Safe working habits at all times are required.
• Must be able to work for a long period of time in varying climates – dry, cooler and freezer.
• Ability to work overtime, as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Working your assigned schedule and coming to work on time is required.
• Must be able to communicate, get along with and work well with other employees.
• Must be able to read and comprehend all work instructions.
• Work is mainly performed in the Cookeville warehouse.
