Our Advanced Analytics team is growing, and we're looking for a technically skilled data visualization content Power BI Developer responsible for the research, design, and implementation of analytical visualizations. The resulting products will provide readily understandable insight and trend analysis of metrics for reporting applicant processing data across multiple geographies. In addition, the successful candidate will maintain a working knowledge of internal data definitions for business use in support of data consistency and liaison with IT regarding data integrity.

Responsibilities

Power BI Developer responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with product management, application operations, and program management team members to understand clients’ needs for managing applicant processing efficiently and effectively.
• Research and mine source data to recommend visualizations to provide insight and understanding related to fleet performance.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and support MS Power BI application.
• Develop MS Power BI applications with a focus on accuracy, data model efficacy, and data relationships across reports.
• Participate in overall architecture and strategy for the deployment of USMEPCOM Analytics visualizations.
• Work closely with team members to ensure MS Power BI best practices and standards.
• Develop with system integration in mind, mainly in the context of data flows into and from MS Power BI, and integration with AWS web applications.
• Provide training and documentation for supported applications.

Additional Skills/Competencies include:

• Experience with data visualization, implementing high-value solutions and performing administrative activities relating to the ongoing maintenance and refinement of DoD facing dashboards.
• Use of SQL queries in a Microsoft SQL Server environment through SQL Enterprise Manager, and/or using Microsoft Access or Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Business Intelligence concepts and patterns (Dashboards, Analytics, Predictive Analytics, Metadata)
• Experience with front-end design and Visualization best practices
• Hands-on experience with data modeling for large datasets
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or similar
• 5 years of data analytics experience
• 3 years of data visualization experience using enterprise-level tools such as Power BI
• Requires US citizenship, and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance
