There are three major things that differentiate IT’SUGAR from other candy retailers. One is the product – an unconventional twist on traditional candy store goods that focus on the humorous and outlandish. IT’SUGAR is a growing candy retailer looking for a chief operating officer (COO) to be the right hand of our thriving CEO. Our ideal candidate is a great leader of people with a strong finance background. This person will play a pivotal role in advancing our strategic vision, ensuring operational effectiveness, and fostering a culture centered on people, passion, and process. 

What you’ll do? IT’S Exciting!

• Acts as a strategic partner on the leadership team and works closely with the team to ensure they are meeting performance expectations.
• Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement

• Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the CEO
• Directly oversee merchandise operations, finance, real estate development and partner with the CEO on sales management to budget for sufficient investment capital to achieve growth targets 
• Aggressively manage capital investment and expenses to ensure the company achieves stakeholder targets relative to growth and profitability
• Works collaboratively to develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of the firm and insure excellent client service.
• Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders
• Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving the organizational vision and operational strategy
• Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning
• Partners with CEO and executive team to build a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met

What you need to join the fun (besides SUGAR):

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field
• 5 years experience in executive leadership positions
• Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
• Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
• A solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
• Be able to identify problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues
• Excellent communication skills, team oriented, strong positive leadership
• Strong financial acumen with excellent analytical skills 
• Effective communicator adept at synthesizing data and complicated concepts into easily understood and actionable language
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to scale an organization for growth.
• Knowledge of International business development
• Strong retail experience a must
