ISG is Hiring an Architect Near Rochester, MN

Description

ISG, a multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering firm, recently expanded into downtown Rochester! We're hiring an Architect to elevate design, while also bolstering the local and overall firm capacity.

Outside of Rochester, you will also support larger firm initiatives and projects. Your direct supervisor will be Jeremy Wiesen, a project manager and architect. As the Architecture Group Leader, he’s had the opportunity to work in almost every one of ISG’s 12 Business Units, though primarily focuses on Commercial projects. He envisions the person in this role enhancing the firm’s design, coaching and mentoring other team members, and supporting or leading business development efforts. 

ISG is excited to bolster our team with an enthusiastic Architect to join our team in our Rochester, MN office. As a part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to flex your creative muscles all while making a difference in our communities. You will be collaborating with architects, designers, engineers, project managers, and other employee owners who apply a nimble and forward-thinking approach when serving client needs. 

Regardless of your office, you will be working with team members across geographies. Although we invest heavily in technology to allow us to work from anywhere, travel still may be necessary at times for projects, training, or networking. These trips are usually 1-2 days and occur about once a month.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Work directly with clients in all phases of design process – from the initial napkin sketch to opening the front door! 
  • Collaborate with other enthusiastic and ISGers while leading design efforts to create inspiring and uplifting spaces to live, work, and play.
  • Communicate project goals, objectives, design standards and procedures with project managers and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Direct the development and preparation of project contract documents.
  • Get your boots dirty conducting site visits to observe construction progress and respond to any on-site challenges.
  • Help mentor and develop the next generation of designers and architects.
  • Willingness to think bigger, better, and bolder to make a difference in our communities!

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years of professional design experience and licensed to practice architecture.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree from an accredited architecture program.
  • Ability to communicate ideas empathetically and visually through both written and verbal media.
  • Ability to represent ISG and clients in public forums.
  • Familiarity in Revit, Adobe Suite and Sketchup computer software packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, participate with a variety of team members on different projects at varying levels of development.
