Responsibilities

Job Description:

The Information Security Engineer plans, designs, builds, and integrates tools and systems that are used to protect electronic information and devices. Implements systems to collect information about security incidents and outcomes. Develops metrics or procedures for evaluating the effectiveness of the systems and tactics being used and may also be involved in creating training materials.

Job Duties Include (but not limited to):

• Responsible for the maintenance and administration of the following MS Azure / Office 365 Services apps: Exchange, Intune, SharePoint Online, Teams, Office Apps, User & Groups, and Security Center. 
• Responsible for NIST 800-171 compliance and CMMS certification efforts. 
• Track all company IT resources to ensure accountability for assets and tracking for security purposes.
• Responsible for the security of an organization’s computer systems and networks.
• Offers support utilizing security tools and technologies such as firewall, proxy server, remote access, and others.
• Educate the organization’s computer users on the utilization of security procedures and products.
• Conduct various networks security scans to detect cybersecurity threats.
• Administer the indicators and metrics that will assist in maintaining the effectiveness of security processes and controls.
• Record the process related to gathering and maturing Threat Intelligence. 
• Identify irregular system behavior and installing software that keeps track of suspected security breaches. responsible for playing an active role in minimizing the negative impact of such an intrusion.
• Handles the computer systems, networks, and proper evaluation of security issues for new hardware or software.
• Maintain a secure information processing environment for all company employees. 
• Identify bugs to the development or data team for remediation and review preventing problems from occurring in the live environment. 
• Author and edit end user support scripts that interface with the SQL database, allowing for testing and support tasks to be completed in a more efficient manner. 
• Maintain infrastructure, network and supporting software related to the infrastructure.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

• Must have at least seven (7) years supporting IT systems and hardware
• Must have 8570.1m IA SAE Level II certification
• Able to research and investigate the potential impact of new threats and exploits.
• Able to identify, investigate, and respond to information security alerts.

Desired Skills:

• Experience managing an Azure cloud environment; power user in SharePoint

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical field (Computer, Engineering, or Information Systems) from an accredited university
• CompTIA Security

Security Clearance: 

• An active TS/SCI security clearance is Required
