The Role: At Iress we have many products that have been built on different web platforms over a number of years. You’ll help us drive consistency, efficiency and scalability across Iress through the development and support of a web component-based Design System. You’ll help drive advocacy through clear guides, best practices and consultancy. You’ll work alongside the global Iress Design Team helping bring our desired product experiences to life, driving advocacy through those products by championing the design framework. You’ll help us disrupt our current processes with prototyping tools to ensure less wastage and help us remove the ‘design handover’. What you will be doing: Work within a team of highly motivated and knowledgeable engineers to produce solutions that ensure advocacy to all of our users Develop a design system, based on the latest web standards and technologies, which can be used by current and future web technology stacks You’ll code it, talk about it, test it, promote it and support it Keep our internal design system documentation clear and useful You’ll work with teams from around the globe and help them integrate the Iress Design System into their applications You’ll integrate our design system with design tools to help us prototype and test faster as a business. What you will need: Excellent knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, and HTML. A good understanding of React, Web Components and design systems would be beneficial Knowledge of modern testing approaches including test driven development. We use Jest and Cypress, but knowledge of those is not required.
