Iredell Memorial Hospital Incorporated is Hiring a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT Near Statesville, NC
Description
The Senior Accountant has a thorough working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger and financial reporting skills, coupled with solid analytic and interpersonal skills. This position encompasses performance in all areas of the general ledger. The Senior Accountant will take a role of some of these areas, while assisting Staff Accountants with completing their assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Special projects/analysis that requires extensive use of Excel and the handling of large amounts of data manipulation.
- Optimize treasury and banking functions
- Proactively identify workflow process improvements / efficiencies.
- Key contributor to efficient close cycle
- Preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare Balance Sheet and Income Statement analytical analysis monthly and explain variances to budget, forecast and prior periods.
- Participate in year-end audit preparation and quarterly reviews.
- Prepare monthly reports for key indicators and statistics
- Key contributor to departmental reporting and budgeting
- Provide and develop daily, weekly and monthly analysis, and reporting on operational performance as it relates to the business activities including monitoring margins, variances, and giving feedback
- Ability to develop work plans, coordinate projects, oversee project activities
- Ability to prioritize, plan and use time efficiently.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy of work as well as improve the quality
- Assists with ad hoc reporting needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both internal and external customers, and the ability to work in a team oriented environment.
- A positive attitude, with a high degree of ethics and personal integrity, as well as confidentiality, is traits needed to be successful in this role.

- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Requirements
- 4-year Accounting degree required, CPA or CPA candidates preferred.
- 3 years of general ledger accounting experience with mid-to-large-size companies.
- Thorough working knowledge of GAAP.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP formula generation and Pivot Table generation).
- Experience with Oracle accounting software preferred.
