Description
Overview
Receiving is responsible for examining all contents of incoming shipments to verify accuracy. Inspect, test, sort, sample, or weigh raw materials or processed, machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent GED required. A minimum of one (1) year related experience and/or training. Forklift and overhead crane experience is preferred but must have the ability to successfully complete and maintain certification.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions including but not limited to basic correspondence. Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints preferred. Effectively able to present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units
of measure.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Working knowledge of MRP systems is preferred, knowledge of Syteline is helpful.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply a commonsense approach and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must lift up to 25 lbs frequently; lifts up to 50lbs regularly; lifts up to 70 lbs occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
