Director of Engineering:
The Director of Engineering role has a strong technical sales and customer education focus with additional engineering background – the successful candidate will be a member of the business/customer facing team for consulting on product development, explaining product features, technical presentations, and negotiating system requirements. This is a hybrid position based out of St. Louis, MO.
Intramotev is seeking a motivated Director of Engineering to join the leadership team to manage our growing demands for engineering talent for the development of self-propelled rail vehicles. Intramotev is developing multiple unmanned self-propelled vehicles. This role has a total engineering focus – the successful candidate will be a leader / mentor / coach of the engineering development team both strategically and technically as they guide the innovative solutions for current and future platforms. This role requires extensive engineering experience along with multi-disciplinary skills. This position will be based out of St. Louis, MO. A small amount of domestic travel to support integration, demonstration and customer engagement will be required.

Position Responsibilities
- Design strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources
- Implement innovative technologies
- Hire engineers and coordinate their training
- Oversee front-end and back-end development teams and their projects
- Prepare and manage the engineering department’s budget
- Monitor reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest improvements
- Ensure compliance with security regulations
- Coordinate with external stakeholders for new integrations and tools
- Review and update policies relevant to internal systems and equipment
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field
- Previous experience as a director of engineer or in a similar senior-level position within an engineering department
- Extensive hands-on experience in both back-end and front-end development
- Good understanding of system engineering processes
- Strong leadership abilities and strategic focus
- Excellent project management skills
- U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided)
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally for customer visits and conferences
- Fluent in both written and verbal English
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:
- Good understanding of agile methodologies
- Experience with cloud technologies and modern human-computer interfaces
- Comfortable as a coach and mentor for engineers
Typical Education and Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor and/or Master) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience.
Relocation:This position offers a competitive relocation package for qualified candidates.
