Job Summary Under general supervision: Perform minor repairs and apply basic welding processes. Repair compactors, containers and carts. Perform preventive maintenance inspections, diagnostic and repair of electrical and hydraulic systems on compactors. Conduct safety checks on compactors and containers. Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing compactors and containers, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. Perform service calls for compactor repair. Perform related work such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, notching of metal and plastic parts. Perform all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs). Work from prints, drawings and verbal instructions. Perform standard layouts and set-ups of dimensions and tolerances. Utilize standard shop hand tools, measuring devices and equipment. Perform other maintenance related work as required. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards. Qualifications 5 years’ experience in welding processes such as MIG, stick, and torch welding on a variety of materials. Knowledge of safety procedures and practices necessary while operating or repairing compactors, containers and carts Skill in operating tools equipment, parts and procedures utilized during the repair and servicing of compactors, containers and carts Career opportunities We believe in providing the training and development you need to grow your career with Interstate Waste Services.
