Accountant (Solar), Remote Job Description IGS is looking for a talented, motivated, and collaborative individual to join its Accounting team. As an Accountant, you will provide general accounting and financial reporting supporting the Company’s Solar development company and investor funds. Responsibilities include reconciliations, journal entries, monthly revenue and cost of sales accounting, fixed asset accounting, day to day accounting support, assisting in month-end and annual close processes and assisting in annual audits and special projects. In addition, the Accountant will be expected to contribute to the design and effectiveness of appropriate internal control policies and procedures and ongoing compliance. Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for the monthly close process for the solar entity revenue and related cost of sales. Complete monthly reconciliations, as assigned, including but not limited to: Sales/Cost of sales Accounts Receivable Accrued purchases Accounts payable Fixed assets Bank reconciliations Complete journal entries as directed by the Accounting team. Assist Accounting team in month-end close process, including consolidation, completion of related journal entries, financial statement preparation, variance analysis, etc. Other Responsibilities: Liaison between accounting function and the revenue assurance team to handle issues relating to billing including research, communications, and resolution of billing discrepancies. Liaison between accounting function and the Solar team for solar energy systems in service dates, costs, timing and reconciliation of monthly system reports. Work with team to complete year-end closing process, annual audit, corporate tax returns, and other compliance reporting, as required. Required Skills: Highly analytical, organized individual with strong attention to detail and accuracy in work products. Excellent communicator with strong organizational and interpersonal skills necessary to interface with all levels of IGS Solar and the core accounting department. The ability to work independently with sound business judgment and integrity using initiative and self-motivation. Demonstrate ownership and accountability for areas of assigned responsibility and related work products Thrives in fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Flexible and able to adapt to ongoing change. High attention to detail and work accuracy. Respect and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Microsoft Great Plains a plus. Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related degree. 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience.
