Job Description

Job Overview:

IRC is currently searching for an Analyst on the Financial Planning and Analysis Team (FP&A). The Analyst will be responsible for the consolidation and delivery of relevant financial information and insights to the organization.

The IRC’s Financial Planning & Analysis team (FP&A) is a critical partner in ensuring the success and longevity of the organization’s humanitarian programs, which provide clean water, shelter, health care, education and economic development support to refugees and displaced people. Responsible for leading the annual budget and forecast processes, analyzing and reporting results internally and to the Board of Directors, and providing business partnership to all departments and budget owners, FP&A offers sophisticated financial insights that allow the organization to operate and expand its programs responsibly. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Build, update and maintain financial templates and models to enable both the budget and forecast processes
  • Collaborate across departments and FP&A teams to assist with delivery of monthly results, forecasts and operating plan
  • Assist with presentation materials shared in meetings with internal and external senior leadership teams
  • Identify and implement opportunities to use financial data and systems to improve modeling and reporting capabilities
  • Analyze current and past financial data to support critical initiatives and financial management decision-making
  • Support the continued development and implementation of software and systems (e.g., Power BI, Microsoft D365) that enable FP&A delivery

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration or Finance
  • Minimum 2-3 years of progressive budgeting / financial experience and ability to create insight from data and analyses
  • Proven knowledge in financial analysis and expertise working on budgets preferred
  • Highly motivated with strong sense of accountability, initiative, and intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and operate within tight deadlines
  • High degree of proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (including Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, Power BI and SQL is desirable
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills: the ability to effectively liaise with colleagues in a diverse multi-cultural environment
