JOB SUMMARY

The Product Analyst is responsible for analyzing the market, identifying trends to predict product performance. They are responsible for ensuring that market and product requirements are appropriately reflected and implemented in new product launches and existing product updates. The Product Analyst works as a member of the Product Team. They work with Marketing, Sales, Customer Care, and Claims to ensure products are meeting the needs of our members. They collect competitor data by monitoring the market and the industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct in depth market research, compile data and determine market trends. Create comprehensive reports based on the results of the market research. Monitor the competition to compare their products and determine success
• Perform strategic and ad-hoc data work in support of Profit Center. Explore large, complex, and loosely defined datasets to create actionable insights.
• Explain trends across data sources, potential opportunities for sales growth or product improvement.
• Capture and document data user stories, use cases, and workflows
• Work with Marketing and Sales to conduct interviews targeting consumers to get their feedback.
• Work with underwriting to monitor the product's performance throughout its lifespan, develop and suggest improvements.
• Launch new products and features, test their performance, and iterate constantly and quickly. Identify opportunities and determine product vision and strategy.
• Work with Product team to improve products using policy/certificate language, benefits and rates
• Identify updates to products wording to ensure positive underwriting results and products are competitive in the marketplace
• Identify process improvements for both new product launches and existing product reviews
• Support the Portfolio Manager in implementing new products, vendors, and carrier relationships by setting agendas, completing necessary documentation, facilitating meetings, and following up with stakeholders
• Receive and respond to escalations from internal and external partners with respect to products

QUALIFICATIONS 

• 2 years of data analysis
• Experience in a fast-paced operations environment
• Strong organizational skills online and offline while under time constraints
• Naturally collaborative, Strong relationship building skills, Able to work well with others
• Critical & innovative thinking; Self-driven

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Project Management, Microsoft Office Products
• Previous experience in the insurance industry a plus but not required
