International Council on Clean Transportation is Hiring a Financial Analyst (U.S.) Near Washington, DC

The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) is an award-winning, independent, global, non-profit research organization that provides data-driven research to advance policies that reduce the health and environmental impacts of the transportation sector. The ICCT is looking for a Financial Analyst to assist in a broad range of financial reporting, planning, and analysis activities, and maintain relevant systems. You will be based in either our Washington D.C. or San Francisco, CA office and report to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager. You will be a resource to staff across the organization, addressing financial management needs and supporting the decision-making process with necessary reporting, data analysis, and insights.

You Will:

  • Engage in the annual business planning process and assist the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager in the development of the annual operating budget.
  • Update forecast and budgeting assumptions and models to incorporate findings from analysis of historical data and market trends, for example foreign currency exchange rates and fringe/indirect cost rates
  • Become an expert in Adaptive Insights and Workday and support staff across the organization on reporting and budgeting. Develop and deliver Adaptive trainings to staff.
  • Coordinate with other Adaptive end users and teams to maintain consistency and integrity among all users and use cases.
  • Design and develop reports, dashboards, and other data visualizations, including scheduled and ad-hoc reports and queries, using a variety of tools.
  • Build proposal budgets and financial reports for funders and ensure compliance of funder/contractor requirements in reporting methodology and calculations
  • Liaise with the Development team to develop and update funding forecasts and track against funding goals
  • Prepare short and long-term cashflow projections to inform operating activities.
  • Be responsible for project setup for new grant and project awards in both Intacct and Adaptive and ensure system data mirrors each other and is consistent with information in other ICCT systems, for example our Salesforce development system
  • Create and maintain plan structures and budgetary controls within Adaptive Workday.
  • Perform financial analyses for finance, management, and program services on an ad hoc basis.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience in financial reporting, planning, and analysis activities.
  • Experience or strong familiarity with creating complex financial assessments, such as financial models, rolling forecasts, and operating/cashflow budgets.
  • Developed and/or implemented new financial reports, dashboards, processes, or tools based on historical data, market trends, and business needs
  • Worked collaboratively with staff across a company or organization, including management and staff with limited finance and budgeting expertise
  • Experience with and ability to learn and manage various financial systems. Adaptive Insights, Sage Intacct and/or Workday Financials experience are a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to gather and synthesize operational and financial information.
  • Experience or interest working at an international nonprofit. Experience living or working outside of the US and/or fluency in another language is a plus.

Our Benefits 

This full-time position will be based in our Washington, D.C. or San Francisco, CA office and have a salary of $76,200 (DC) or $83,820 (SF). We offer an excellent benefits package including health insurance, paid vacation and family leave, a 401k plan with a generous 7% employer contribution, hybrid office/remote flexibilities, transportation subsidy, and other benefits.
