As Family Services Specialist for Treatment Foster Care Program, you will lead the on-going effort to train and evaluate Teaching Parents (TP) for ITFC program; provide trainings and guidance to Intercept staff to assist with the implementation of practice models; support referral and admission coordination to include case management, interviewing, communicating with placing agency and case workers, and transportation of applicants; support 24 hour on call rotation to provide crisis intervention services; maintain and update database of referral information; provide program development, or training, support as needed, including attendance at venues, and formulation of pertinent information and tools for foster parent recruitment efforts.
This position requires some travel between Roanoke and Rocky Mount, Virginia.
Education and/or Experience:
A doctorate or master's degree in social work from a college or university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or a field related to social work such as sociology, psychology, special education, or counseling, with a student placement in casework services to children and families or one year or experience in providing casework services to children and families; OR
A baccalaureate degree in social work or a field related to social work including, but not limited to sociology, psychology, special education, or counseling and one year of experience in providing casework services to children and families; OR
A baccalaureate degree in any field OR
Experience in the field of foster care or experience in working with behavioral programs, counseling, and/or skills training is preferred. A minimum of one year of program administration is highly desirable.
