INTELEX TECHNOLOGIES is Hiring a Remote Product Designer (Remote)

Location: This role is remote, we encourage applicants from Canada and the US to apply.

Position overview

Intelex is seeking an expert Product Designer to join our User Experience team! This role will be responsible for guiding and crafting remarkable and multifaceted digital experiences with an emphasis on crafting efficient experiences to help empower organizations to minimize negative social, environmental, and human impacts.

Responsibilities and deliverables

  • Apply user-centred design practices to influence project strategy and direction.
  • Advocate for data-driven design solutions for web and mobile.
  • Take ownership and help drive UX strategy - be an evangelist for UX practices across the company. Build distinctive digital experiences that are desirable and consistent across multiple products.
  • Conduct user research to discover insights, and develop user scenarios, personas, user flows, design concepts, UX copy, low and high-fidelity wireframes, information architecture, prototypes, UI standards documents, and other design documents as needed.
  • Working efficiently with Product Manager, Product Owner, and Internal Subject Matter Experts to convert research artifacts into the product roadmap.
  • Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve design solutions. Collaborate with product customers to ensure a clear assessment of the needs of users and problems to be solved.
  • Concrete understanding of product conceptualization and prototyping process in relation to user research. Review, interpret, and share research findings with project teams, working to build a shared understanding of user needs and difficulties
  • Ensures team members fully recognize the problem before starting to explore possible solutions
  • Backup design decisions with industry standard processes and guidelines (Material Design, iOS Human Interface Guidelines, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) principles, WCAG accessibility, or other proven design guidelines)

Qualifications

SKILLS & WORK TRAITS

  • Passionate about building products that people love
  • Work autonomously in a cross-functional team with product managers, engineers, designers, and other team members
  • Visual awareness with a deep understanding of design principles like typography, layout, composition, and colour theory. Solid understanding of how to animate UI elements in meaningful ways. Use timing and easing effectively. Work with engineering to implement animation to an accurate spec.
  • Apply a test-and-learn approach to all your designs
  • Experience effectively using standard design tools like Figma
  • Have experience promoting the high-level strategy (the why) and helping your team tie design, data, and research back to that strategy
  • Mentorship comes naturally

Technical proficiencies

REQUIRED

  • Proficient with Figma or similar UX design tools
  • Familiarity with Jira, Miro, or similar project management tools

Preferred

  • Familiarity working with Material UI Design system, Lean UX, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS

Experience

REQUIRED

  • 3 – 5 years in a product design-centric role
  • Solid portfolio that shows your range in product design, design systems, user research, and visual design
  • Solid UX Practice/UX Research knowledge

Preferred

  • Experience researching, crafting a B2B SaaS product and working with Scrum or other Agile teams

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or post-secondary training in UX/Product design-related area preferred.
