Integriward LLC is Hiring a Carpenter Maintenance Near Harpers Ferry, WV

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The Carpenter Maintenance performs the carpentry duties necessary to maintain in good repair; buildings & equipment. Work involves most of the following: patch/repair, planning and laying out of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions, using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments, and making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work; and selecting materials necessary for the work. In general, the work of the maintenance carpenter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

PRIMARY -

  • Perform drywall repairs, finishing, point up, and painting work as needed.
  • Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
  • Assist in the repair or construction as needed on roads, walks, walking bridges, buildings, equipment, etc.
  • Add fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closures.
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
  • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding.

SECONDARY -

  • Snow and ice removal by use of equipment, chemical, or hand tools.
  • Cleaning of comfort and smoking stations.
  • Furniture relocations or removal.
  • Assist other trade specialists with mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance on site.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position requires no supervisor or manager responsibilities.

JOB SKILLS:

Required -

  • Read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
  • Aptitude to work both individually and in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
  • Ability to work safely with appropriate manual and power tools, mechanical and electrical equipment, to the assigned tasks.

Preferred -

  • Ability to operate a snowplow truck, if not already able it is expected to be able to develop this skill.
  • Ability to operate bobcat equipment and various attachments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) Certificate.
  • Five years or more of miscellaneous or a specific craft relating to carpentry, maintenance, or construction.
  • Must have knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in the carpentry, maintenance and construction field.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and driving history must meet company standards throughout employment.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check as a condition of employment and to obtain access to federal installations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time. This job is performed in a shop setting, various buildings and out of doors. This position requires driving and working out of doors in extreme heat/cold and possibly rainy weather. Physical stamina and strength in all its forms (endurance, temperature/climate, stress, etc.) is necessary. There is a possibility of minor cuts and/or bruises in the performance of job duties.

Will be required to drive/operate government and or company motorized vehicles to include but not limited to; aerial bucket trucks, crane trucks, pick-up/flatbed trucks (heavy and light load), cars, forklifts, and golf carts.

Standard work week applies but will be expected to report and perform duties as contract or emergency requirements dictates. Flexibility of schedule is important.
