** Hours are Monday through Friday. No Weekends**
1. Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors, in person or over the phone
2. Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using the following proper telephone etiquette:
3. Registers new patient and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information (ex. co-payments and insurance cards)
4. Collecting patient past due balances
5. Scanning incoming faxes
6. Generate batch transmittal reports for each day
7. Facilitates the patient flow by notifying the provider or other medical staff of the patients’ arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
8. Responds to inquiries by patients, prospective patients, and visitors in a courteous manner
9. Keeps medical office supplies adequately stocked by anticipating inventory needs, placing orders, and monitoring office equipment
10. Protects patient confidentiality, making sure protected health information (PHI) is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended.
11. Ensures proper hand-off of responsibilities once their task is completed
12. Ensuring that all medical records are accurate and complete within the SBU for all patients
13. Ensuring compliance of healthcare regulations, medical laws and high ethical standards
14. Performs other position related duties as assigned

Requirements
Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in a physician office setting preferably within the urology specialty
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the knowledge of: Internet Software; Word Processing Software (Microsoft Word); Electronic Mail Software (Microsoft Outlook); Electronic Health Records (EMR Software); Practice Management Software.
· Ability to answer multiple incoming telephone calls
· Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, multi-tasked abilities and the ability to perform well in stressful situations.
· Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR, Practice Management Solutions.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
· Customer service skills experience is a must with excellent oral and written communication skills
· Knowledge of Medical Terminology
· Typing speed at least of 55 wpm
