Accountabilities & Responsibilities: Adheres to Integer’s core values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements Provide technical ownership in development of novel electroplating processes/Chemico-mechanical polishing of transparent ceramic wafers/incoming wafer inspection techniques-wafer metrology Apply an in-depth understanding of fundamentals of materials processing in designing reliable techniques to electro-plate through holes vias in transparent ceramics Strong analytical hands on experience related to characterization of hermetic via plugs and bonded assembly at wafer scale by utilizing a combination of techniques like broad ion beam milling and Field Emission SEM Familiarity with wafer metrology techniques related to bow/warp and surface roughness measurements Initiates, designs, develop and coordinate projects in support of company goals, supervising support personnel as needed Writes proposals, reports, plans and presents technical papers to enhance and promote the Integer image Provides project leadership, gives instructional and directional guidance to technicians and junior engineers Reviews technical and patent issues/has patent responsibility Builds relationships with external organizations to provide access to state-of-the-art process technologies. Acts as resource/consultant on technical matters Maintains and troubleshoots advanced analytical equipment and makes purchase recommendations Provides leadership with progress updates on projects on a weekly/monthly basis Performs other functions as required Education & Experience: Minimum Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Physical Chemistry or equivalent Minimum Experience: 5-7 years of experience with bachelor’s on R&D work experience over a wide range of materials processing and characterization with a proven track record of time bound & result oriented approach. 0-3 years with PhD Preferred Experience: Subject matter expert (SME) in wafer metrology, electro plating, Chemico-mechanical polishing (CMP) processes; familiarity with wafer scale manufacturing per MEMS industry std.; strong analytical hands on experience related to mechanical stress free milling of brittle materials; familiarity with metallography and FESEM characterization of optically transparent ceramics with hermetic via plug fill Knowledge & Skills: Special Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead team activities. Advanced problem-solving skills. Strong communication, presentation, follow-through, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively work with coworkers and all levels of the organization.
