Overview

Memorial Blood Centers (MBC.ORG), a division of Innovative Blood Resources (www.innovativebloodresources.org), has been saving and sustaining lives since 1948. We supply blood and blood components, state-of-the-art laboratory services, and biomedical expertise to area healthcare partners, national blood centers, biotechnology companies, research institutions, and international clients. Operating 10 donor centers and conducting hundreds of blood drives each month, we are proud to be an independent nonprofit that supplies over 30 area hospitals and more than a dozen air ambulances with life-saving blood—from our community, for our community. 

Responsibilities

Summary:

Responsible for preparing vendor invoices, communicating with vendors, reconciling, and resolving vendor disputes as well as printing and mailing checks. Also responsible as back up for billing and cash receipts functions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices, which includes vendor coding, reviewing for accuracy, posting, attaching corresponding packing slips, obtaining approvals for invoices without purchase orders and/or packing slips, general ledger account coding on invoices not pre-coded
  • Compile edit list and corresponding invoices for check run approval
  • Run and process checks for mailing, obtain approval on check posting journal, file all corresponding information
  • Receive and research calls from vendors, ex. payment status, what payment is for, missing checks, errors on invoices, etc.
  • Scan all vendor invoices and attach to voucher in Oracle
  • Responsible for filing all A/P reports promptly and in an orderly way
  • Promote excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service within our department, and with internal and external customers
  • Produce new vendor report – quarterly
  • Prepare reports and attend conferences as required

Schedule: Monday - Friday business hours

Qualifications

Education: 

Associates Degree

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Degree preferred 

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of customer service, accounting training/ experience and/or work

Other:

Self-motivated

Possess ability to work independently and with others

Good customer service and communications skills

Good organizational skills

10-key entry, Word, Excel and Oracle experience

Excellent computer skills
