Position Summary

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded systems including firmware, application software, protocol stacks and communication protocols.
• Development of new work products and enhancement of existing systems.
• Mentor junior engineers in Software design, development processes, HW/SW system analysis.
• Create tools for SW development, unit test and functional testing when needed.
• Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
• Lead internal review of software designs and code per Innoflight standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and other Engineering departments.
• Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management and release processes for Innoflight software products.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field is required.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated experience with software system architecture and design.
• Extensive experience with embedded systems programming, debugging and integration.
• Proficient with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and low-level device drivers.
• Experience with Linux development environment and related software components.
• Can interpret schematics and data sheets to create SW requirements, designs, code and tests.
• Solid understanding of Networking and communications protocols.
• Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications (Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
• Experience with programming and interfacing to FPGAs.
• Expert knowledge of Avionics Networking and communications protocols.
• Familiarity CMMI process is desired.
