We are seeking a creative, driven, and highly motivated Project Manager to join our team!

Summary:

The Project Manager has responsibility for the successful execution of turnkey projects, including achievement of contractual requirements, customer satisfaction, cost forecasting and control, scheduling, quality, and performance. In addition, the employee manages the overall project performance: scope, safety, quality, schedule, innovation, cost, and customer satisfaction.

 Responsibilities:

  • An understanding of Lean and Six Sigma preferred
  • An understanding of assigning costs to the manufacturing process
  • Expert at communicating to all levels, able to effectively communicate with plant personnel, plant leadership, customers, and corporate level management
  • Proficient in project management, with excellent analytical and organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, organize and prioritize tasks, make appropriate decisions, and be comfortable in a setting where schedules and priorities change daily
  • A proficient understanding of scheduling and software applications (e.g., Microsoft Project) is required. This includes the ability to develop project schedules and manage projects 
  • Manage & lead a team to meet internal detailed project schedules for all requirements & for all departments 
  • Manage project budgets and identify risk areas that need to be addressed to keep projects within overall budget expectations
  • Be the project “Overseer” to monitor schedule and budget performance thru various methods such as:
    1. Team meetings to confirm schedule status
    2. Track part shortages for each order/project and work with purchasing to address shortages, schedule delays, and budget issues.
    3. Monitor progress on the assembly floor
    4. Monitor departments compliance to processes and procedures
    5. Make sure machines are complete and avoid sending known issues into the field to fix later with few and approved exceptions
  • Manage assembly activity for your projects
    1. Work with Team Leader to develop assembly plan
    2. Working within schedule and budget
    3. Work with Assembly management for logistics and resources
    4. Define resources required and timing for them
    5. Develop daily and weekly plans to prepare for upcoming tasks
    6. Work thru issues that may impact the plan
    7. Monitor # resources to work on machine according to the plan
  • Lead the following team meetings:
    1. Weekly team project meetings
    2. Engineering design review meetings
    3. Assembly preparation meetings
    4. Ready to Ship meetings
    5. Installation preparation meetings
    6. Post mortem (lessons learned) meetings
  • You will be the point of contact with the customer to:
    1. Communicate status
    2. Resolve open issues or conflicts
    3. Communicate information between companies
    4. Monitor and control activities to avoid scope creep
    5. Address commercial change requests 
    6. Ensure all contractual requirements are met
  • Reports project status and performance data as required to management and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate commitment to a Continuous Improvement philosophy, including supporting all quality, safety, productivity, and performance improvement initiatives.

 Other requirements for all levels:

  • Travel as required to meet with customers at their facilities
  • Hours as needed to meet the requirements of your projects

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at Ingersoll’s facilities
