Ingersoll Machine Tools, Inc. is Hiring an Electrical Assembler Near Rockford, IL

Ingersoll is a global leader in the development of advanced machine tools for the world's aerospace, transportation, energy, and other heavy industries.
We manufacture the largest metal removal, automated composite placement, and 3D printing machines in the world.

We are seeking a creative, driven and highly motivated Machine Electrical Assembler to join our team!

The chosen candidate will be working in the assembly shop in order to understand the overall electrical assembly and process from start to end. The candidate we are looking for is experienced performing the electrician activities listed below on their own with little to no guidance in a machine tool manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the Machine Tools Field
  • Material handling with forklift
  • Use of scissor lift, man lift and ladder during assembly phases
  • Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to safely complete work assignments
  • Knowledge about machine buildup: general wiring, run electrical lines with neatness, terminate wires to terminal strips, wire and crimp connectors and electrical devices (motor power cable, encoder cables, ethernet, profinet, profibus, I/O racks, motors, circuit breakers, relays, switches, computers, monitors, probes, extenders, cameras). Hook up power and motor to drives, encoders, reactors, line filters, transformers, lights, receptacles, fans, relays and power supplies.
  • Ability to work with the following tools: power tools, electrical knockouts, crimper, pin insertion and extraction tools, heat gun for shrink tubing, soldering iron/vise and solder, multi-meter, phase meter and wire tag machine.
  • Install wireway, ductway, brackets, electrical enclosures and I/O Racks which requires drilling and tapping.
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic theory: electric field, magnetism, voltage, amperage, resistance, single-phase and three-phase current, inductance, capacitance, semi-conductors and basic grounding practices.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, interconnects and assembly drawings. Cross reference Manufacturer and Ingersoll PN from electrical schematics, part list and BOM.
  • Documentation: check lists, marked-up schematics, product release form, ENOC documentation
  • Travel national/international as per Ingersoll Service Policy when required
  • Work overtime when required in order to meet company schedule requirements
  • Work on second shift when required in order to meet company schedule requirements
