The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing key aspects of Workforce Planning and Employment, and Benefits Administration. This includes developing, implementing and evaluating sourcing, hiring, orientation and retention practices; maintaining relationships and working conditions that balance employee and company needs and rights; and administering, updating and assessing benefit programs. 

Requirements

Essential Job Functions

  • Model and instill company mission and values throughout the organization
  • Conduct job analyses to create and/or update job descriptions and identify job competencies 
  • Identify, review, and update essential functions for each position
  • Participate in workforce planning discussions and present long-term forecast of human capital needs
  • Provide coaching to managers regarding effectively managing talent 
  • Manage the new hire and annual performance management process
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints filed with federal agencies involving employment practices or working conditions, utilizing professional resources as necessary
  • Identify internal and external recruitment sources and implement selected recruitment methods 
  • Establish and maintain metrics for talent acquisition (e.g. vacancy rate, days open and time-to-fill) 
  • Brand and market the company to potential qualified applicants 
  • Maintain external company employment job boards to remain relevant
  • Establish and maintain selection procedures (e.g. applicant tracking, interviewing, reference and background checking)
  • Create and extend employment offers and conduct negotiations as necessary
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate orientation and onboarding processes for new hires, rehires and transfers
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of employee relations programs through use of metrics (e.g. aggregate turnover, voluntary turnover, involuntary turnover, exit interviews and employee surveys)
  • Develop and implement employee relations programs (e.g. total rewards, recognition, special events)
  • Conduct benefits programs needs assessments
  • Implement/administer benefit programs and outsourced components 
  • Communicate and train the workforce in the benefit programs, policies, and processes 
  • Develop and implement occupational injury and illness prevention programs (e.g. OSHA, worker’s compensation)
  • Establish and administer a return-to-work process after illness or injury to ensure a safe workplace
  • Manage payroll-related information—new hires, adjustments, and terminations 
  • Serve as a backup to process company payroll—ensuring accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, company deductions, and other garnishments and levies 
  • Coordinate with conducting needs analysis to identify the company’s safety requirements
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or human resource management 
  • Minimum of 7 years of human resources experience, preferably within the property management industry
  • Human Resources certification credentials are preferred 
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Deep understanding of human resources business processes and practices 
  • Strong Employee Relations skills
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment 
  • Ability to establish relationships across the organization and at various hierarchical levels 
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
