SUMMARY: Seeking a finance professional who is passionate and knowledgeable about Accounts Payable and Travel Expense processes, embraces the detail, without losing sight of the overall goals of the organization. This role is created due to increasing volume of AP, travel expenses and our growing business needs. The Company uses a shared-service model for its parent company and three subsidiaries. This role will primarily be focused on managing end-to-end AP t for two of the growing subsidiaries. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Full cycle accounts payable including invoice review, coding, approvals, data entry, and disbursements
• Establish relationships and communicate with management regarding open invoices and payment status
• Review the setup of new vendors including payment terms and banking information
• Ensure AP check, wire and ACH voucher payment packages receive approval prior to payment release in accordance with the company’s policies
• Monitor AP email inbox to respond and resolve urgent issues or requests
• Initiate and manage payments through checks, ACHs or wires.
• Follow up with vendors regarding payment inquiries and billing issues.
• Manage and coordinate monthly accounts payable close process, including AP, travel and other accruals, investigate any discrepancies discovered during the GL to AP module reconciliation process
• Communicate with top suppliers during period-end to gather accrual information in accordance with internal control procedure
• Communicate with department heads during period-end to review open POs and accrue for any unbilled charges
• Monitor and review AP Aging Report, outstanding workflows and unvouchered invoices to proactively address or resolve any past due invoices
• Direct and supervise Form 1099 processing
• Maintain and ensure ongoing compliance with internal control documentation and testing
• Develop, document and educate employees and management on new and/or updated policies and procedures
• Lead and participate in ad hoc projects as required

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 years of progressive experience in an AP or Accounting environment with 2 years of leadership experience included
• Must have large ERP AP system experience, as well as 1099 filing experience
• Experience with QAD a plus
• Experience with implementation of a cloud-based procure to pay solution a plus
• Strong Excel and business solutions software skills
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accountants, clients, and upper management
• Good communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good presentation skills for educating internal clients, etc.
• Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
