Position

Now in its fourth year, the Imogen Roche Foundation, Inc. (IF) is experiencing a period of rapid expansion and growth. We are seeking a full-time Human Resources Administrator to process payroll, administer benefits, ensure compliance, and help us maintain a positive work culture as we scale up operations and employ many more people. The HR administrator will be the primary contact person for any HR-related queries. The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating Paylocity, possess an in-depth understanding of human resources and benefits administration, and have the ability to build relationships of trust and confidence with multiple levels of employees. This position is a great opportunity for a mission-driven, detail-oriented, creative problem-solver to get in on the ground floor of a rapidly-expanding learning organization that prioritizes the career growth of its employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to)

  • Develop hiring strategy
  • Recruit employees and track application status
  • Conduct reference checks
  • Onboard new employees and maintain new hire checklist
  • Ensure compliance with OCFS and NYC DOE staff requirements
  • Set up new hires in PEO platform
  • Process payroll
  • Benefits administration
  • Stay relevant with all HR laws and regulations
  • Handle employee relations issues in conjunction with Managers, Directors, and PEO
  • Liaise with PEO staff members on all employment, benefits, and management issues
  • Update employee handbook in coordination with PEO
  • Maintain and update HR procedures manual
  • Maintain employee personnel files (electronic and paper files)
  • Maintain company organization chart
  • Facilitate and coordinate any training or seminars for new hires, employees, and managers
  • Schedule and coordinate HR events
  • Schedule and help coordinate All Staff Meetings
  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests
  • Assist with special projects
  • Promote DEI efforts at the organization
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Maintain time & attendance records
  • Compile statistics for HR Management reports
  • Conduct pre-employment screening interviews
  • Compensation reviews
  • Establish a performance management evaluation process

Requirements

  • Minimum three years previous HR experience required.
  • Proficiency with employee relations and EEO
  • Strong organizational skills are required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in the use of Paylocity, or comparable HR and Payroll platforms
  • Highly computer literate with capability in MS Office and G-Suite (e.g. Excel, Google Sheets, etc.) and related business and communication tools
  • Approachable, friendly demeanor
  • Ability to uphold the utmost confidentiality
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of Imogen Roche Foundation, Inc.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Human Resource Management or related field, preferred
  • PHR, SPHR or other HR certification, preferred
