Illumination Foundation is Hiring an Accounting Manager Near Orange, CA

Homelessness is the largest social and public health crisis in California. Illumination Foundation (IF) is a growing non-profit organization dedicated towards disrupting the cycle of homelessness by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services and children’s and family programs. IF currently has 13 facilities with 22 micro-communities scattered across Orange County, Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire.
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for supervising and managing the accounting department and all areas of financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the accounting team, helping audit and ledger preparation, and supporting managers across teams with financial procedures.
Job Duties:
- Supervise Staff Accountants and Senior Accountants
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
- Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Work with HR on performing payroll functions and issuing paychecks
Required:
- Non-Profit experience is beneficial but not required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 3 years relevant experience
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to send and receive emails and summarize data in spreadsheets
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency in Google Suite
